The Cast Iron Plant, named for its indestructible nature. This plant was very popular in the victorian times of Britain due to its ability to live in its not so fresh environment (both in the home and out!)

You would have to try very, very hard to not get on with this plant. Preferring to be forgotten than fussed over, these gorgeous paddle like leaves really are an exceptional plant in any plant owners collection. Whilst not rare per se, as they are slow growers it can be a little tricky to get your hands on one of substantial size… but don’t worry, we got you.

Bright, Indirect Light

Bright, indirect light is perfect for this plant! Can tolerate a variety of lighting conditions but for best health, a bright room is ideal. 

Low Maintenance Watering and Humidity Needs

Say goodbye to complicated care routines! Lightweight and easy-going, this resilient plant prefers to dry out a 2-3 inches before watering and is very forgiving if you were to leave it longer than that. Would appreciate a humid environment but will be just fine with standard household humidity.

Height & Growth Rate

Slow growers. Will reach maturity in 3-5 years, typically growing only 1 new leaf per year.  

Non – Toxic 

 But of course, we don’t advise you eat it.
